Battle the Twenty-Ninth

Definitely my new favorite, mainly because there is a lot of awesome shots of me grappling. Our last event is this weekend. There are a lot of clips of us just messing around, but the actual fighting footage is the best so far. As usual, I am wearing the brown shirt that says "Fight me I'm Irish!"

Check out when I get swung around by the glaive 5:35. You don't see but I got up and won.

I can't believe how far we took this. We are ending at thirty events. That video is going to be two hours long. Here is Battle the Twenty-fifth which is about half an hour long total.

We had a lot of fun with this one. We scheduled an event but due to rain only a handful of people came. That didn't stop us from having some fun. This video is one of my favorites for being so lighthearted about the activity. (not at first)

Awesome face shot at 2:08.

We have one more event in October, and then we are done. Most likely for good. Sad face.

Battle the Eighteenth

Our 18th event. The first video was made right after the actual event. The two other videos were made a year later with some unused footage. Good way to contrast how Jeff's film editing technique has only gotten better over time.

This was one of the three events where we invited people from the group called Belegarth, the ones who dress up in Medieval clothing. We had a fight between out group and their's which we won. They stopped coming after this battle.

You know in Role Models when they fight with foam swords? Well I do that. I did it way before the movie cam out.

To get things straight though, I do not dress up in medieval outfits or roleplay. It is a purely recreational activity. There aren't any wizards, spells, or reenactments. Just a bunch of people going at it with foam weaponry. We've made the game as normal as possible. We meet a couple times a month for a few hours and play different games like Big Team Battle, Capture the Flag, or Bear Pit.

There are groups that do LARP (Live Action Role Play) but we are mostly unrelated. We went to one of their events last year, and after wards some of them came to a few of ours. Eventually we realized that we couldn't really mesh the groups so we stopped interacting with them in autumn of 2008.

We use swords that we created ourselves out of PVC and foam, but we also order weapons from a website called edhellen. The weapons they make are much stronger and last longer. They also have a wide variety of weapons.

If you have any questions about it, comment and I'll be happy to answer them. Check out our youtube page for some of our videos that were made by a fantastic film maker. Better yet check out our Facebook group for the complete collection videos. Watch Battle the 26th Part 2, it is the best one I think.
